I knew I’d need a place to file all of those bits and pieces that don’t fit too comfortably into the other more clearly defined areas of the website. The important objects that are always left over, like when you’re clearing and tidying a drawer out. You’ve put back the the items you wanted to rearrange and, well, there are these other bits left over. They’re too important to throw away and you realise they need and deserve their own space.
I’m interested in the role of men in community and society, both past and present. Understanding the vital contribution that wise men and elders used to play in keeping a loving and respectful balance. Wondering why and how we’ve lost that and how we get it back. As an older man myself, I can’t help but look at the world and wonder where we’re headed.
Despite all of the good work that’s going on around men’s mental health, we still have a suicide rate amongst our young men that continues to rise. It is unacceptable and we cannot just sit by.
So the articles and blogs in this section are around that wider subject and probably at times which seems like completely unrelated topics.
